News & Updates

  • Fare & Ticket Changes from 3rd November 2025

    30-10-25 11:27am

From 3rd November 2025, Welsh Government’s Young Persons fare scheme is extending to include 5-15 year olds. This will mean cheaper fares for children.

We will also as a result be simplifying our ticket range in line with this.

All of our multi-journey tickets will now have a QR code printed on them. This QR code must be scanned on our ticket machines (face-up) each time you board the bus; you will not be able to just show your ticket to the driver visually.

Our new range of fares is shown below.

    Adult Fares (16+)

    Adult Single – no change

    Adult Return – no change

Adult Day – £6.00, no change

Adult Weekly – £24.00, no change

    Child Fares (5-15)

    Child Single – £1.00

Child Single x2 – £2.00. This will work like a return ticket. It is valid for 2 journeys on the day of purchase.

Child Single x10 – £10.00. Valid for 1 week from the day of purchase. It will work like a weekly ticket.

Child Day – £3.00. This allows unlimited travel on the day of purchase, and can be used on any bus operator’s service in Wales that is participating in the Young Persons fare scheme.

MyTravelPass Fares (16-21) – A valid MyTravelPass must be shown to purchase

    16-21 Single – £1.00, no change

16-21 Single x2 – £2.00. This will work like a return ticket. It is valid for 2 journeys on the day of purchase.

16-21 Single x10 – £10.00. Valid for 1 week from the day of purchase. It will work like a weekly ticket.

16-21 Day – £3.00. This allows unlimited travel on the day of purchase, and can be used on any bus operator’s service in Wales that is participating in the Young Persons fare scheme.

    Special Fares

Family Day – £12.00, no change. Allows unlimited travel for up to 4 people on the day of purchase.

Cimla Adult Weekly – £15.80, no change. A discounted version of the Adult Weekly ticket, valid only on Cimla services 251 and 252.

    School Fares

Tickets will be brought in line with the standard Child Fares (5-15) shown above, but Bishopston (S37) and Cefn Hengoed (S92) will remain Child Single ticket-only (£1.00).

Day tickets will not be available to purchase on school services.

Information has been sent to schools separately to distribute to parents.
