Service X6C & S14: Road Closure on Lone Road, Clydach from 12th May 2025

From Monday 12th May 2025 for 4 weeks, there is a planned closure of Lone Road in Clydach by The Vardre affecting services X6C and S14.

X6C
Outbound from Clydach Mond towards Craig Cefn Parc, the bus will need to turn right on to Gellionnen Road, serve Tanycoed Road / Penydre first and then will serve Tanyrallt and Kelvin Road before heading up to Craig Cefn Parc. This will result in the bus serving Tanycoed Road 3 minutes earlier than normal and Tanyrallt 6 minutes later than normal.

Inbound from Craig Cefn Parc towards Clydach Mond, there will be no change to times. The bus will operate normal route as far as Penydre and back out, but the bus will then need to turn left onto Gellionnen Road, passing YGG Gellionnen school and coming back out onto Vardre Road instead of heading down Carlton Road and coming out by Sunnybank shops. This means the bus will not serve the stop opposite Sunnybank shops.

S14
Inbound from Craig Cefn Parc towards Cwmtawe Community School in the mornings, the route order and timetable will not be affected.

Outbound from Cwmtawe Community School towards Craig Cefn Parc, the bus will need to turn right on to Gellionnen Road and then left from Faraday Road on to the lower part of Carlton Road. The bus will not be able to drop off at the top of Carlton Road due to the road layout and time constraints, so these pupils will need to alight at the bottom of the Carlton Road hill. The bus will then come back out at Sunnybank shops, operating the Tanyrallt and Kelvin Road loop before coming back out at Sunnybank shops again and heading up to Craig Cefn Parc.
